The Dream !!!!!

Until yesterday the biggest moment in Indian cricket history was Mohinder Amarnath running in to clean bowl Micheal Holding. Now it is MS Dhoni hitting a six to win the world cup. This is not only a significant moment, but it also shows how a cricket has grown in India. This also defines how the country itself has grown. From being calm, steady, effectively mediocre, like Amarnath, it is now cool, confident and dominant like Dhoni.

Our politicians should learn from this. This is how a leader should behave.

Until recently we had seen scenes of how people united for a single cause in Egypt. But we are experiencing it now first hand. I was not born to have seen 1947 or 1983, but have lived in the era of Sachin Tendulkar and see how one man’s dreams has turned into a nation’s obsession.

One man moved the entire nation and in 1947 we announced our arrival to the world and now we are a force to reckon with. Presently, yet another man is moving the nation. Some believe he is not even a mere mortal …. When Sachin bats, all religions disappear, All hatred is lost, The whole nation breathes with him. When he is out, billions of hearts are broken. When he successful, billions are happy. Nobody cares anymore about religion, money or power. In the 1990s and early 2000s, he was alone, the lone warrior, we have had many a heartbreaks because there was no one else to support him. But now we have added more warriors to this side. The ones who grew up idolizing him. The ones who have truly experienced such a heartbreak. The ones who are willing not to let the nation feel such a heartbreak ever again.

This day is not as much about cricket as much it is about India. Indians were a very dominant group of people, our civilization was rich and prosperous as we see in our mythologies like Ramayana, Mahabharata. We lost the crown of the most prosperous nation due to some vague reasons. It now time for the resurgence, it is now time to reach the pinnacle of civilization once again…
